/// Rant start
I have a small request to everybody rendering out test images or making tutorials. Please don't use spheres on a floor.

I think we shold start a campaign saying no to spheres on a floor renderings. I know it is easy to make, but it really doesn't give a material/model a good way to show its qualities.
/// Rant end

Sorry its friday and I had a extremly busy week with buggy software to top it off(not maxon) and I had to get it off my chest. :)

Have good weekend.

I still have the bmp of the chrome sphere on a checkerboard floor I rendered out over 3 days using POV-Ray on my 286 back in the day on a floppy somewhere, I'm sure.

It was a REFLECTIVE checkerboard floor, even.

286, those were the days. A lot of fantistic art was created in those days ;). but the amazing thing was you could show a sphere on a checkerboard floor to your friends and they thought you were a computer genious. Now if you show them some ubercool animation/model they are not so impressed anymore.

Blah! On the Amiga, we had a juggler juggling chrome spheres on a checker board ground plane. That should be outlawed immediately! Just say 'NO!' to chrome sphere jugglers on checker boards, I say!! ;P

There's always 'Object2.c4d' from (_library\materialpreview)
It's at least a sphere with some definition.

Or you could wait until Easter

The classic Utah Teapot is the way to go! But it is so much easier just to PLOP a sphere!:)
