View Full Version : The Witch Woman - WIP
acidlullaby 09-14-2007, 01:31 AM Hey! New painting here after being away in Japan/China for a month... it's nice to get back to some hardcore CG after all that time.
Anyway, here's my witch/sorceress/necromancer... I haven't decided yet, but I figured since I'm such a fantasy art nerd it's about time I did one of this energy ball suspended in mid air between two hands kinda picture, ne?
:D
The original line art is a few months old, I wasn't going to develop it when I first drew it, it was just a quick sketch. No references so forgive me when the anatomy looks dodgy.

And this is where I'm up to after one evening's work >_>

Great work so far! :)
I think that her right breast should be much higher due to the pose though ;)
Good work otherwise!

nice work man I really like lighting and colours you've used and can't wait to see what you do with the transparent dress.

Dianae: thanks for the suggestion, you're absolutely right, my muscle structure interaction knowledge is vastly lacking
mxyzptlk: thank you :) I'm not sure if the dress is going to be transparent though!
Update: I'm got something of a back story to this character now playing in my head. She's underwater now within the wreckage of a ship :D

This is shaping up really nicely - I have nothing to crit and can't wait to see it finished!
I must admid that due to your dynamic pose and Dianae's beautiful thread, I made a fresh start with my image - more dynamics and substance I hope.

Hey, you've got some great work going here. It seems that you are going in the direction that the face may have some vaining coming out onto the cheeks, is that so? You could do it more elaborately if that's where you're going with this. I'm also curious what you'll be doing with the eyes too. Will they stay whitish, or will there be more to them? I'm thinking of the possibilty that you could have them glow.
Good luck with this work. :)~Angela

Well, I'm sure you'll figure it out.:) You're welcome for the eyes idea. The eyes are starting to look interesting now.

Great lighting and atmosphere! I love her expression :) I still think that her right breast could be a bit higher but it may be just me. Her dress is very beautiful so far :)
