View Full Version : Hair and Fur using Mental Ray in MAX8

Dose anyone knows how to get hair to render with mental ray without it becoming mangled in the process? Here's my problem, I need good looking hair and fur to be rendered under a refractive glass surface. I'm using the Hair and Fur modifier in 3ds Max 8 so it works as a post process but under the glass it needs to be rendered with mental ray. Unfortunately when the hair renders with mental ray it's a blown out white color. Either I need to render all the hair in mental ray or I need a work around to fake refraction in a post process. Can anyone help?
