Congrats to all the people who worked on this film, so much hard work goes in to making a cg animated film or tv show...
that said, it visually looks like every other cg film out there, the characters look the same, the lighting and textures,,,,,
It is time for a studio to break from convention and show something New...

Maybe their approach is to do a great story and not try to distract you with whiz-bang graphics.
Hmmm...better be a great story...
Has Jerry Seinfeld done anything long form before? The longest thing I can think of was the finale of "Seinfeld". That was a bit unsatisfying.

Of course story is one of the most important aspects of a good film, very important, yet the visual appeal is also very important. I am not talking about wiz bang at all, what I mean is something original, something with more artistic individuality and not the near stock CG looking characters that have saturated feature films for nearly the past 10 years.
it is not something that I can describe but when you see it you will say OF COURSE !!! and then that will shatter the common trend of accepted appeal to a new appeal.

Should be an interesting movie to watch, hopefully Seinfeld does a good job on the bee. Though I have a feeling all I'm going to hear is him, and see his face in my mind.

Couldn't agree with you more. I love these films, and they are great work, but everything does seem to get stuck into the same style. I guess when the cash comes from an investor, they are less likely to fork out the cash on an un-tested artistic style or approach. Remember, these films aren't devoted to being artistic expression, but rather money-making entertainment.

I agree with you guys. It's still the same (i don't know if you can call it Pixar-Style, but i used to call it so :-) ), and everything seems to come out of the same studio. So it's the Story which makes a difference to the other movies.
I know that this style is well established, but if you look at the 2d movies / comics, they always came up with a new style of creating the characters.
Lets take the humans for instance. You could come up with a more or less realistically looking character (maybe some marvel comics), or create them different (like the japanese style or whatever) or maybe like in the Asterix comics (with a massive-sized nose).
So i guess there are loads of ways to create a different style without blowing everything.
What do you guys think?

Yeah,
it is like when you hear a name for the first time and you say " wow, that is a weird name" but then that person makes great music or does something, and soon that name is no longer strange sounding because it is associated with something cool and creative.
I think the visual style of a film is the same way, it it is unique and a great story the visual should carry over and become natural.
