Title: The Twilight of the Gods
Name: Marco Jennarelli
Country: Italy
Software: CINEMA 4D, Photoshop

Fall of the German Gods and damnation of the Ring for the last scene of Wagner's opera "The Ring of the Nibelung - The Twilight of the Gods".

The fall of the German Gods and the damnation of the Ring are described by Wagner in his opera "The Twilight of the Gods" (Bayreuth 1874) through an intense music rich in a mysterious, magnetic and otherworldly power. The image tries to recreate such special and peculiar atmosphere. The caustics conjure up the water of the river Rhine, from which the gold of the cursed ring comes from, and represent, at the same time, the musical "river Rhine" Theme used by Wagner at the beginning of the whole opera cycle "The ring of the Nibelung" and here at the end of the same opera cycle, describing the final fall of the German Gods and of their world/kingdom (the Wotan's throne in the image). Software used: Cinema 4D (3D throne and 3D ring), Shade 7 (3D Objects, 3D Scene and Renderings); Caustics Generator (Water Caustics); Photoshop (Final Composite, Colors and Lights).

Hey, Tuuhia.

All the Lens Flares Effects (also the Rainbow type ones) are "Knoll Light Factory" Effects (the Red Giant Software plug-in for Photoshop). For the Rainbow effect I've used the Chroma types (hoop and fan) printed on multiple separate layers, then a bit blurred and blended.

I hope this is the answer and the hint you were looking for.

Best
Marco Jennarelli
