The picture is rather dark and it is hard to distinguish what we are looking at. A wireframe would be much more helpful in helping us help you but basically you want to bridge the points between the two pieces where they will connect. You will have to delete the polys on both connecting ends first then use the bridge tool and connect the points (the orange dots) between the two. If you do not know how to use the bridge tool then you may want to read up on it in the manual. Keep in mind that you must have the same number of points on each of the connecting parts (the end of the arm must have same number of points as the end of the hand where you are connecting),

yeah if your points do not add up to make quads you could be in trouble.

adding on to what the mentat said(always hard to follow up a mentat), try the weld and optimize tools as well. infortuantely its a bit too complex to explain in any depth, you will just have to figure out on your own the little tricks that make this sorta thing work.

thanks for writting! just gotta ask to use the bridge tool the items need to be part of the object im bringing to separate object to try to join them so do i need to use the connect function first then bridge them. Is that correct? cause i dont see any other way of doing it

yeah I think you need to connect them so that they are the same object. you can't have two diffrent individual objects welded/bridged together it just does not work.
