The team here at MAKE (http://www.makevisual.com) just finished the sponsor intro for the Minneapolis AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) show.

Particularly of interest was the challenge of creating a piece to showcase the sponsors while maintaining a narrative through the whole piece. These sponsor intros are notoriously long (with this piece clocking in at 5 minutes), so this was the most natural way to maintain the viewer's interest.

The piece was directed by Andrew Chesworth, who was also the lead character designer. Babe Elliott Baker is to thank for the lush, textured look as the lead designer and compositor. It was a total blast creating these characters and this world, so we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did putting it together!

Wow, I really loved it! The style, the animation, the everything! Especially like the whole "2D, but 3D" look... very interesting.

You can read more about the project HERE (http://motionographer.com/2007/09/12/make-for-minneapolis-aicp/)

This was a blast to work on!! Andrew did a great job developing the characters which made for some great scenes for us to animate.

Everyone at MAKE did a real bang up job.

Maybe its the lame-sounding title? Acronyms suck. Just put MAKE in the title next time and people will know its gonna be good.

Guys, this is just epic. So much fun to watch. Great designs by Chesworth (my favorites were the snake and the caboose); great textures, colors and composite (you have to look close to tell its not 2D); and flawless, engaging animation as usual.
Everyone at Shilo tips their hat, you guys rule!

PS: one crit... no sparks flying on the minecar ride?
