Hi guys and gals,

For some time now, I have had my eye on 3d animation. My friend who just graduated from this private school in montreal got me "hyped up". I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in modeling or animation at first, but after seeing his work, I knew animation was where I should belong. I have been visiting this website, and god, it is filled with so much information. I am working my own way through some tutorials posted by many new people like me :).I am also trying to get maya, since I heard it is one of the best programs for animation. I am also thinking of going into animationmentor.com or this school in montreal, maybe some of you know it (Nad center).

Anyways, If anyone would like to give me some tips, just to get started you know, I would very much apreciate it.

Thank you, it feels great to be a part of all this. ^_^

It all depends.

From what I understand about the NAD Center (I hear good things) it is MOSTLY technically driven with more of an emphasis and learning applications and other TD kind of related things.

From what I KNOW about AnimationMentor.com it is ALL character animation ONLY. They provide the rigs (for Maya) and you animate. The GREAT thing about AM is that you are Mentored by industry leading animators actually IN the industry, working presently on some project or another! Current PIXAR, DISNEY and DREAMWORKS animators (to name a few) are represented in the Mentor roster.

Either way your good. Only depends on what YOU yourself want more of.

Good Luck!

P.S. I guess I should mention I am a Mentor so I am slightly biased. ;) I will however say unbiasedly that the cirriculum at ANimationMenotr.com for character stuff is GREAT!
