The dark side to all this, at least as far as actors are concerned, is that digital tools can be used to alter actors' performances simply because the director didn't like a creative choice.
After all, it's disgusting to think that a director might have creative control of their film...

Yea, like we haven't been doing that in the editing department since the beginning of film. You don't do 50 takes for nothing.

And you can't always wait to shoot just because your actress decided to shove too many donuts down her cake hole. We've already been doing this to a degree with live action actors as it is, it's not a big deal if it's done in mocap either.
