View Full Version : How do I store and recall a particular pose of a boned model?

OK bare with me. I am working with bones and am still grasping the technical aspects. Is there a way to say bone the model then pose it and at a later time (after having mucked up the pose for example) to recall that particular pose? Can it be stored in a tag? Is this a morph thing? Also on a parallel note what is the best way to pose cloth say in a cape for example? Should it be boned or is this a morph thing again? It seems to me that bones are very linear oriented so I am unsure about how to go about using them to move a surface area across multiple dimensions. And another tangent...what would be the best way to set up lips and eyelids for posing? Bones or morph?? Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not all into bones either but to save one default position you can select "fix bones" from the objects tab on the right. Whenever you want to go back to that pose you just choose "reset bones" from the same menu. Not sure how to store multiple poses though...

For making something like a cape move you can use the wind modifier, but it doesn't give you much direct controll. It usually looks good though.

As for lips and eyelids, that's defenatly a morph thing. I'd use the morph plug-in, very handy.

sounds like a job for posemixer, if you've got MOCCA have a look through the mime tutorial, it gives an explanation of how to use it to setup hands... I think

Thanks! I've never used Mocca so it never occured to me.
