Where do you find this funktion? I looked in the help files, in the manual (R4), and found nothing.

Can you tell me where i find this funktion? :surprised

i'm to 100% sure that fR supports HDRI.
But does max has HDRI support?
maybe any of the other board users know something? Or maybe leigh can push this thread in the 3ds max section :wavey:

I believe the little plug or script for max 5 to use HDRI is on splutterfish.com

Keep finding those maps guys! I found the ones listed already, but if I find more or breakdown and start making them I'll post it here.

max5 supports High Dynamic range TIF files. You can convert *.hdr files to TIF with HDRShop. Since you usually have to use HDRShop to convert the light-probe to a lat/long format anyway, it's not much trouble to save it as a TIF instead. I've never actually used that, so i'm not sure how much control you have for the exposure, etc.. I like the way it's done with the splutterfish HDRI plugin (which directly supports the *.hdr files, but they still need to be transformed in HDRShop to a lat/long format).

hope this clears up some confusion :)
