I cannot figure this out

Will anyone tell me the settings they use to render out something like their demo reel in a quicktime format for online view, the lowest file size I get is around 140mb and the quality is horrible. I've been tweaking settings for the past few hrs, and haven't gotten any results.

I'd like it to be no more than 50mb

Thanks

Option 1:
Render an uncomressed avi out of AE and then download this software which is for free:
http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/download.html to compress an mpeg1 (runs on all computers)
Mpegs can only handle certain resolutions, as I remember width and height each must be dividable by 8.

Option 2:
Download Quicktime and render Quicktime movie out of AE, compressor Sorensen 3, 60% Quality, Keyframe each 25 frames, limit datarate to e.g. 2000 (depends on resolution), dont forget to tick the "prepare for internet streaming" option as well, so the viewer can see a download bar while the movie is downloading.

I also had a hard time getting anything look good inside of After Effects. Similiar to Fuxianer - I took an uncompressed AVI file and had Quicktime Pro convert it into an H.264 quicktime movie. I found this to compress pretty quickly and allowed me to keep a uncompressed master for later.

Nope, forget it. You'd only be able to get decent quality via the Adobe Media Encoder, but technically this means you can't render out a QT but a native H.264 stream. Just follow the other suggestions.

This is why beenyweenie's sticky-request should be a sticky: :)

Recommended Sticky - Do not export compressed from AE (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=10&t=534735)

Awesome! Let's just hope it catches enough attention, then. ;)
