View Full Version : unrolling toilet paper
Hey, for an animation I need to have some unrolling toilet paper. Any ideas on how to do this? The main part I'm wondering how to do is how to have the paper look like it is being unwound out of the main cylinder of the paper roll. The animation is very simple, just pulling the loose end and having it unspool.

what a shitty topic :)
is the paper roll in a stand (meaning: is there the metal thing above it that lets you tear it or not?)
cheers

No, it is not in a stand. Its just on a roll.

Depending upon what you need for the shot, the speed that it will unroll, camera angle, etc, there are many different solutions.
For a real fast unroll, I would make two sections: an extruded (or is it lofted) spline would be the paper sheet that comes from the roll.
Animate it's length along with a blend shape on the cylindrical roll itself to simulate the paper leaving the roll and you've got one possible solution.

I think that it will be difficult to make it look any kind of realistic
