CGTalk - explosion FX deformer

Hi,

I am doing an explosion of a mobile phone with explosion FX. It has a lot of polys and the render time goes crazy when I choose "automatic" in the cluster part. Neverheless automatic is the best visual effect I get.
Any chance to accelerate the render by tweaking specific parameters ?
