Stepunk 04-03-2003, 02:33 PM Here it is my model of AlfaRomeo GTV!! :)
Made with 3d studio max 5
It takes about 5 hours of modeling
Any comments or crits?

You surely won't drive far with that car :scream:
The bevel of the placeholders for the frontlights is very nice.
The whole front ist very neat.
The shader definetely needs some reflections, but I am sure you know that.
All in all it's a good start. Could be a nice car model in the end.
I think at the back there is a problem with the geometric approximation. The spec looks suspicious in the middle of the rear.

how you did that..
splines and surface ? poly modeling?

HEAVEN871: yes, the rear need to be adjusted in some details, and also some other parts..
For the shader, it is only a wip shader :) when i will finish the model i create a good shader. Thank you for your comment
BLUESMANJF: polymodeling RULEZ!!! I don't like the splines and surfaces method i think it is not good and it is too long to do... (i may be wrong.... :) )

i wish i could poly model like u..very nice and neat..
can we see wireframe for both unsmoothed and smoothed versions

Gee. You can call that low poly modelling.
The whole car has a good count in my opinion, but the front light place holders! oh my god, quads! :D
I guess it's ok for a static car model. But you can get performance problems when creating the lights for the wholes and positioning them. You have to be in smoothed more for accuracy.
But I guess computers are fast enough, and it's not that serious. But I suppose 6 points would be better.
All nothing serious, keep on modelling.

Cool. It's getting better.
Don't forget to add some depth to the metal where the windows are stuck in and of course the tyres. I think it's called paddle box.
The black window thingie doesn't fit at all in the car geometry. Just a little bit of scaling will solve it.
Keep on modelling.
