Hello,
I modeled a giraffe in XSI and brought it into Zbrush and am trying to figure out how to get the suggestion of fur or hair on the giraffe. I tried using the fiber brush but it paints a dark brownish gray color only and I cannot figure on how to change its color. Also, it is too thick and doesn't look right anyway even at very low intensity settings. Other threads here suggest to use this brush but i cannot figure it out. What is the best way to use this brush?
Second, being a newbie with zbrush, I was experimenting with a pic from my dog's head. He has short, light brown hair and close up it could be taken for giraffe hair. I tried making a brush/texture of it but cannot figure on how to make the edges of the fur transparent. In Photoshop, I lassoed an irregular shape of the pic, blurred the edges a bit, added some spatter, inverse and deleted the outside of selection so i have a nice irregular brush type shape. Now, how to save it? The brush comes into Zbrush with white surrounding the fur, not transparent. How do save this brush keeping the outer edges transparent. I loaded the fur anyway into the texture palette and painted with this texture and it didn't look half bad.
Any other ideas would be appreciated on how to do this other ways to paint hair.
Thank you.
