Ok I need a few questions answered about mel, as I am now learning it and hopefully going to be extremely good at it. As so far it is what I want to do for my career. But I am currently in the inbetween phase of MAYA 7.0 and 8.5. My questions are:

1- what are the main differences in the mel scripting code from one to the other.

2- What is a good stand alone script editor that I can use to edit in the mel code with, on a mac?

few differences... nothing to worry about. Just a few flags and some not so common used commands... as I know.

I think BBedit can be a great tool for MEL editing: http://www.dannyngan.com/tools.htm
