Title: Wandering Angel
Name: Glen Ricardo Luis Federico Fernandez Sardi
Country: Venezuela
Software: Painter, Photoshop

I drew this angel a long time ago, i had this image in my mind of a bald angel, kind of soulless yet imposing at sight.
Her cloth has the symbol of a wanderer, meaning that she isnt attached to any god or demon.
Didnt want her to look evil or good, i wanted her to have a feeling of intrigue as to not knowing what is on her mind or what are her intentions.

The fratest challenge for me was to paint a bald girl (im still not quite pleased with the end result)

C&C are welcome.

Nice work!

crit:
One thing that bothers me is the baldness. I think if she even had some sort of funky feather head-dress on it would help. The other thing that seems odd is that transparency of the dress at the chest and then it's not the same anywhere else.

I like it but the thing I like the most is the background. Love the touches of the skeletons and the crosses too:)

Yeah, this is a really great piece. I like how the coloring is really tight in some areas, and really loose in others. It's a good balance. Nice work.

I really like this piece. By making the angel bold, (s)he loses a piece of his/hers identity. She might be wandering/searching/looking for her own identity? Interesting theme! To me the piece is 95% complete. The only thing I would work on is her hand (just a little bit more detail) and it bit more depth in the background. For now it looks a bit as if she is standing in front of a painted wall. But again, it is a nice piece.

BTW, talking about her hand, what would it be if she has her hand open? Than it would be as if she is inviting the audience to join her in her search? It might just use that idea myself!

Thanks for the comments :)

FRENZIEDmind: There are transparent clothes that can be treated with certain pigments making them look solid, there are other techniques even used on jeans that make certain areas of the cloth transparent by eliminating strands. So its totally possible :)

antonvandort: very good suggestions and ideas. I’m not really going to modify this piece as i consider it "done", but those are very good comments none the less. Thanks.
