Hi,
this should only happen when parts of the installation have been corrupted/deleted. Please try to install again.

don't want to start a new thread with the same problem. but i've come upon this problem while installing R9, the following error occurrs after starting CINEMA_4D.exe : "Internal Error:String Resource not Found
the resource folder seems to be corrupt or missing". the install works fine on my laptop and the app starts fine. but i guess it has something to do with me deleting manually all the registry entries or older maxon version. so is there any way out other than reinstalling windows?
Mihkel
Deleting old registry entries won't influence R9 in any way. Have you tried to install it a second time on the same system? You can use a different target folder and have two R9 installations on the same system at one time.

i've tried to install it on multiple destinations. still the same problem. thatīs the same thing i'm wondering, a new instal should overwrite registry entries but it woun't help. i've also tried to copy the files from my laptop install to my desktop pc to the exact same destination, and still nothing, so i think it has something to do with corrupted registry. even though it sais that the resource folder is missing or corrupt - but it's there and very much intact.

Sorry, i have no idea why this is happening to you.

I don't have 9 yet,...but the solution to your problem is (if you want to do it): lunch regedit, on your local machine folder, maxon> MC4D, and delette the entries below default.) It solved my problem with v8.
my .00002 cents

Hi,
I just got C4D and i got the same 'Internal Error: String Resource' message when i tried starting it up. The thing is that I don't understand what sinai said :blush:. Could someone explain it to a noobie like me??

I think what sinai_1 said, other than taking Reginald Edit to lunch ;)
is this:
Go to the Start menu on the Windows task bar. Click on "Run...". When the dialog opens, enter "regedit" in the text box and select OK. This launches the Windows Registry Editor.
Follow the folders (like a directly folder tree):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
->SOFTWARE
->->MC4D
Select all of the entries below (default). Hit the Del key or right click and select "Delete" from the context menu. If it asks "Are you really, really, really sure!?", say "Yep." (OK)
Close Registry Editor and try running C4D R9.

Yep, I had this problem too when I installed 9. I didn't know what to do other than re-formatting my hard drive. Typical of me to do things the uber-hard way. I was to embarassed to ask for help here. Wish I would have. BTW, the reformat worked for me but I don't recommend it. :argh:
