View Full Version : Lightwave to Cinema4D
Fredl 09-06-2007, 02:21 AM I can't find any reference page that lists exactly what aspects of Lightwave scene import are supported in C4D.
Meshes (I assume the mesh is no problem)
Camera (is it baked?)
Weights, rigs?
Morphs? Deformations?
Any other issues?

Meshes, cameras, lights and basic animation as I recall, no procedural shaders, no deformers or bones, no morphs, though you can use pointoven, or use fbx if you want to get rig info/weights.

Thanks for replying, Per-Anders.
Do you know if the camera motion is baked to individual key frames?

The keys in the lws file are taken over to c4d, so no there is no baking as such but the interpolation is there so the animation will be the same
you may want to double check the camera settings, focal lenght and fov as lightwave has a number of differnet camera types
