Pretty cool. The clips are so fast it's hard to really critique each one but the overall piece works for me. I assume it is a recreation of the original trailer which is pretty smooth. My only concern really is the heavy handed use of depth-of-field. A lot of the shots seem to be too much out of focus because of it. Very cool overall though.

looks great!
good animation dude!

i liked the most the first and the third shot!

just one critic.... wanted to be longer !!!

:D

Well, I like the first still most. But I think the background (and overally whole clip) is a bit dark. I think there should be shining sun in Rome! So colors would be nicely saturated in yellow and orange colors.

Concerning the anim, I m feeling lost - the cuts doesnt have sense. I also anticipated some fighting cuts but there arent any:surprised

Also the ratio of the texts/animation is not satisfying and one can feel its artifically lenghten out.

I know that you had to work hard on it (respect) but it needs another effort to make it work

Just my 2 cents...

Yeah!!!! great work!! Being a true fan of the movie, I really enjoyed this little trailer!! nice color grading on the third and fith shot and I like your compositing work for the background ( imported from the movie I assume ). Keep up the good work! I give you my five stars rating !!

Ditto what Libor said. In the ending shot it's too dark to see his face when he turns around with the helmet off. Because he doesn't look very alive in that 1.

U know what You should do...

put him a clown red nose on the last shot !!! or something ridiculous !!!!

Pretty good. I know you'd have to make another character,,, but you should have him doing sword work with somebody. Some action... one or two shots at the end.

I can tell for the few brief seconds with the helmet off that the face isn't real accurate. There was another guy here on CGtalk who did Crow in 3D. It was really good. Maybe somebody knows that thread and he can help with the head of the Gladiator model. Otherwise... I love the movie and this is a kool animation.

When i see things as great as this i always think, the one who made it has:

a) too much time
b) too less life
c) all above

:p :applause:

 It looks great!, cant wait till i can make stuff like this :D

Awesome work :applause:

My only crit is the expression on the gladiators face when he turns around.. maybe have him open his eyes slowly as he looks up/around. Right now it doesnt show that much emotion.

Well I won't go into criticizing the actual cg but rather the type font you used for the text. since the movie is clearly placed within an antique setting, why the heck do you use a modern font for the inbetween text display?
I believe this takes down the overall feeling of the clip.
May be you use the font displayed in the last sequence?
Then the text quality would be likely to reach the good cinematic
shots.

Thank you for your comment 12dreamz!

In fact this is (quite) the same font from the original trailer...:)

I wanted to have the same phrases, same music but not the same scenes...

Fabulous :applause:
It would have been cool to see some more shots though. And the pace of it is a little strange - I think the parts with the text are a little too long, and feel a bit odd, can't really explain why.
But the actual modelling, texturing, lighting and animation is cool

All the model is low-poly (7814 faces total with helmet, shield and sword)...

nice movie..
the first scene of him in the helmet was pretty realistic..but the

helmet is so non-uniform..i know you wanted to give it a sense of

hand-forged but i think they used to be a bit more precise.
the "removing-the-helmet" animation is really good.

BTW u didn't answer the question what software u used ??..
