That's an amazing still!
The only thing I'd say is that the frog is a little stiff and looks like it's in plastic (not the texture, but the pose). But for the rest, it's perfect!

is the grass physical geometry?

Yes, I see definitive geometry and I can change it before render.
The grass is generated by the module MAXON Hair in CINEMA 4D with a "plan generate" in the options of special Hair texture.
This grass is regulated and textured with a 2 superimposed textures , 1 special Hair texture and 1 simple texture.
