Space. com is running a cool article about the new spaceport being built in New Mexico for Virgin galactic.

the article contains some very cool 3d visualizations of the upcoming space terminal.

Virgin Galactic... how awesome is that!? It seems reality has finally caught up with the Thunderbirds judging by that underground hangar seen in the vid... hehe.

Now thats architecture for space. Genious design.

Even reminds a bit of the millenium falcon :)

Maybe we should be puting that much effort on where we live now before looking to go into space?

As someone involved in Archviz...I must say that I wasnt impressed with the video, and found myself skipping forward in some parts waiting for something 'more' to happen.
Watching movies like Apollo 13, and Armageddon shows how exciting, and just plain cool a space launch can be.
It was beutifully modeled, uninspiringly lit (apart from one of those illustrations which is amazing), and edited together like an underwater documentry...ie-slow and boring. It should have been quick, and exciting...gotten the blood flowing. Its the first commercial space flight dammit...I WANT ROCK MUSIC AND SHAKEY CAM!

Technically good-but otherwise...meh. I just shudder thinking what a studio like Neoscape could have done with such a contract.
