aliolisan 04-02-2003, 10:15 PM Just something I've been playing around with last week. Loosing my inspiration so any critiques would be really welcome.

Wow that is looking great :applause:
I love the atmosphere - really old and moody, great stuff.
The only real crit I have from looking at these is that some of the textures look a little low res, although it could be the compression on the images themselves.

thanks you two!! the image has lost some quality due to compression. I'm somewhat stuck creatively...the roof and attic windows still need some work..maybe some clothe lines on the 2nd flr windows..what do you think?
your loosing inspiration cuz this things done dude. looks awsome

Excellent looking work! Is this modelled on any particular building or is it something you've thought up from your own noggin?
I love these architectural renders - well done :applause:

thanks again guys! The tower was modeled after "el escorial"

but wanted more of a grunge, festive look of the 1500's. I thought that the model maybe needed some little details to make it work such as: clothes lines, stuff in the balconies, etc, but w/out overdoing it....any opinions?

Ah well - you might need to do a bit of historic research to find out if it had clothes lines et.al. coming off it in the 1500s - it would make it look interesting and getting the correct feel will make quite a challenge. Was it a building that was actually lived in or was it built for the purpose of, say, worship or something like that? I think it would be difficult to figure out where to put extra bits and pieces myself as no part of the structure sticks out at me as suitable for hanging a clothes line off - similarly, the balconies look a bit small for putting stuff on except the odd flower pot. These are just my opinions - choose to ignoe if you wish! Just to reiterate though, so I don't sound too negative - I love this image! You've obviously worked hard to get it this far!

You want critics?
Try working on the skies.. Add a little bit of clouds or something. The air is really white don't you think?
Very nice scene! :airguitar
