So I noticed in post on my server that the harddrives are running slower than I think they should be.

Check out the attached picture.

These are all 250gb maxtor sata drives with 16mb cache. So, couple of questions.

- Shouldn't they all say SATA 3 instead of SATA 1/ATA 133?

- Why does Second SATA say ATA instead of SATA? lol

If anyone knows how to fix this, i'm all ears. Maybe I'm just being slow today.

On the back of the drives, there is a jumper. If I attach a jumper (factory was no jumper) the manual says it's supposed to force it to SATA150. I tried it just to see what it would do and it wouldn't work at all then. The drive showed up as 0Gb. It's got to be some random bios setting but I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, if anyone has worked through this feel free to chime in.

Are the drives SATA II?
Does your motherboard support SATA II?

What BIOS options do you have set for your drives? Its hard to tell just what exact BIOS setting you need from board to board.
