Hello,
I'm Fabien and I'm a french student at ESRA - Sup'Infograph at Rennes. Each year we have to make a short film by group.

This year we were 5 to work on our short called Twit Twit. It's the story of Charly, banjo player, who is bloked by a toll in the middle of the desert. Hank, the toll's owner, doesn't seem decided to let through Charly.

We made it with Maya 8.5, Photoshop and After Effect.

this is the website of the short : http://www.twit-twit.com

The poster :

pretty cool!
also sound management and music is really nicely done.
some more depth of field would have made even more interesting the long shots, but generally it would have been great with a lightly more noticeable presence of good matte paintings (mountains, rocks, any appropriate natural element usable in a spectacular way), since you have several very long views.. it's a pity you decided to solve everything with 3D renders (apart from the skyes ofcourse).

anyway, a very good work,

cheers!

I think it had some extremely clever parts, but it lacked a sense of overall direction.

PS- In regards to the two instances that felt like they were taken out of One Man Band. There is nothing wrong with paying homage to a great animation like that, you just need to be extra careful in doing so.

Stylistically I loved it. Story was good too.

To me it seemed a few of the shots had to little weight, like when the main character was struggling with the lowered gate arm. Still fantastic work for a student short
