I extruded some polygons, but with different offsets. This caused some points to be not connected with each other.

I need to cut it at the blue line that goes through the selected polygons. I've cutted it with success on the other side, but somehow it never works the second time.

I've tried to cut some polygons with the knife tool so all the points will be connected, but somehow this does not work.

I enabled snapping on points and some others, but it doesn't help. Is it even possible to cut it so the points will join to one, or are there always two, but overlapping each other so you won't see two?
What is a good way to make the polygons connect? Because I have to do this a lot because I'm constantly extruding polygons, each with different offsets. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but it's going to be a HyperNURBS object, so you will see weird edges when the polygons are not connected.
