View Full Version : Model: Headphones
superfly18 04-02-2003, 08:05 PM Pretty much just starting modeling. I've been interested in this stuff for years and finally got the rents to purchase a package. Through tons and tons of demos i recieved, well, Cinema 4d was the best.:buttrock:
So i've modeled a pair of headphones, sort of my first real model.
It's cordless. ;)
Comments, suggestions, and critisims would be nice.

i'm thinking that the hard shadows are a bit much?
nice model, for one thing you beed to change anti alising to BEST instesd of geometry. and the noise on the ear part is a bit extream. maybe mess with that and your specular a bit.
but thats a real real nice model man.
I'd love to see your model but a tsunami of pop-ups blocked my view...! :scream:
Apart from that the picture seems to be missing also, it says hotlinking isn't allowed...? :hmm: I think you can better attach the image with your message, right here on these forums.

Here's the pic uploaded...sorry Kirl, meh host sucks.
JIII: Thanks for the advice. I never really liked the poor anti-alising i was given, yet i never knew how to fix it. And the leather texture does seem a bit much huh? My friends said it was aight, but, imma tone it downn...take a pro's advice;)
geez...really had to bog down file size..and size:D
pro lol
if that poor sap was using apples safari browser he wouldnt have had any pop ups.
I am not a pro just a highly opinionated person.
that leather is just a personal choice.
yeah and under render settings you should see an antialiasing drop down menu thingy.
thats where you can change the alising. Cinemas defalut is for geometry. which only smooths actualy geometry. I.e the edges and stuff like that. put it on best your whole image gets a make over.

superfly18: for starting out...that damn good...well done...like it.
Come again...? A pop-up-less browser?
I'd be willing to switch systems for that...!
Nice model! Only thing missing now is a brand of some sort on the one of the ear thingy's. And even that's mostly because I can't find any other things to suggest...
Very nice!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I've just rendered another picture and toned down the bump map, took OFF hard shadows on one of my lights, added another light, and rendered with BEST anti-alising.
Tell me which you prefer;)
Kirl: So i need a name brand to put on the ear thingy?:p I've been thinking that but never actually went through with it, mostly cause my comp is too slow. But i'm definitely thinking about it.
Personally i like the updated better.

Nice job on the texturing and modeling. I think the lighting still needs a bit of work. It's better w/o the hard shadows, but now too much of the model itself is in shadow.
One helluva alot better than my first model, that's for sure!

Hmm...I totally agree.
ThirdEye_01: Thanks for the compliment...always helpful!
AdamT: I'm not too good with lighting, as i can never get a good atmosphere while using lights. Any ideas or tutorials you might have to increase/make better lighting? I'm very interested as that is an essential part of a enviroment.
man thats looking better way way better.
Loving it dude that is really a hella good model.
ohh lol kirl I think someone already has a pop-less browser for windows but if ya want to know more go to
http://www.apple.com/safari/

Really nice headphones!
I have to agree about too much of the model being in shadows now tho...
As for the popups...didn't notice any...
In fact, haven't had a damn virus, popup or anything else for a loong time.
Get mozilla, and see how the internet all of a sudden got alot faster and safer :)
