View Full Version : Mouse sensitivity lowers in Maya...
pedantic 04-02-2003, 03:06 PM Hello all!
Recently bought an mx700 mouse, damn fine mouse indeed! Problem is it is almost useless in Maya as for some reason, its sensitivity gets decreased. Anyone know if there is an option somewhere to set it? Can't find one for the life of me...
Thanks!

Yup , i am experiencing the same thing..
running windows 2000 sp2 with a MouseMan® Dual Optical and indeed, whenever i start maya (or having the maya window activated) the mouse moves VERY slow...
it seems like it doesn't take the settings in account anymore and uses default settings......
some say the solution lays in the drivers, but after installing and using other default drivers, the problem still presents itself.
in other words...... i don't have a clue how to fix it......

like uh. how slow are we talking about.
and about that settings being set back to the default.
I think that you are right. although my mouse doesnt go very slow when in maya, I can still feel a difference in speed. and I have a 4th button for the thumb and have it set to using the spacebar so that I can just use that for the hot box.
but no go.
this is strange.
I feel kinda bad for you guys.
but it could be worse. they could be moving very fast instead and make it so that you couldn't click on anything.

It's not so slow that you can't use it, it is around average speed, but still very annoying :/

I can't let this thread die yet. I have the same problem, and it doesn't make it unusable, it's just annoying. To add to this I notice the same thing in PS.

i have solution! :bounce: :bounce:
MouseWare version 9.75 and above has incorporated a game compatibility scheme that allows for greater game compatibility with the scroll wheel and the extra buttons. Unfortunately, this may activate in non-game applications that use either Direct Input or OpenGL. In games and other programs that use these technologies, MouseWare disables its features and allows Microsoft to provide Microsoft compatible scroll messages and button assignments. MouseWare also reverts back to the basic mouse speed settings provided by Microsoft drivers. This means in your program you may experience a loss of MouseWare button assignments, cursor acceleration and speed settings. If you are experiencing these issues in a particular program, try disabling the game compatibility scheme by editing the Windows Registry, as described in Customer Support Document 4619, located at the following URL: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=support/products/document&CRID=320&contentid=4619&contentid2=4998&showalldocuments=1&countryid=19&languageid=1#reg
Fixed my issue with the MX500 :) enjoy
