hello everyone.
i am about to begin a project involving many furry animals- lions, wolves, even mammoths.
at this point i am trying to figure out the best method for creating this fur.
is maya fur the best way to go? shave and a haircut seems more geared towards human hair- for finely detailed hairstyles etc.
i have done some tests and the render times seem significantly greater using shave and a haircut over maya fur.
also it seems easier to get the furry animal look using maya fur over shave and a hair cut...
does anyone know of any rendering/lighting/shadowing problems that may occur with either of these- shave or maya fur.
what about the maya hair system? could this perhaps be a better solution?
thank you very much.
