View Full Version : Universal Render to quicktime
PerryDS 08-31-2007, 10:14 PM I'm having this issue with the universal binary version of lightwave and haven't been able to determine whether it is my system that is causing the problem or is it Lightwave. When I render anything out to quicktime format (any compression), I end up with no time code and the quicktime runs choppy. It won't run when I import it into after effects. I can export to pict format and import that into after effects then run it to quicktime from there which works fine. Just don't like it when the technology doesn't perform as it should. I'm running a Mac 3 gig 8 core system with the latest version of Quicktime.

Don't render to QT. Render out frames and then use QT Pro or any other compressor and create your QT movie. You can also use LW by playing back the frames and then render a QT.

yep, the universal rule in ANY 3D software: render to frames and then rebuild it into a QT movie (or avi, wmv or mpeg), never ever render directly to quicktime.
