Hi, thanks to everyone who helped me last time. I'm working on a simple rendering project trying to create a biological membrane that looks like this one:
http://www.nearrealtime.com/images/ATi_images/ati-bacteria-03.JPG (http://www.nearrealtime.com/images/ATi_images/ati-bacteria-03.JPG)
I used this famous Xray shader
http://dl3d.free.fr/shader_tutorial_xrayshader_maya.php
to render and can create the transparent membrane effect. But couldn't get the 3D bump effects as it's in the original pic.
The bumps in my pic (attached) looks like 2D. What I did was I added "volume noise (3D)" to the "Xray color" in the shader. Does anyone know how to make the bumps more realistic (i.e. 3D as in the original pic)? Also, what kind of noise looks more like the one shown in the original pic? Thanks!
