I really like the idea .modeling ,texturing and lighting is also great .
specially that ladder in the back which gives different look to the car.
It will create a good feel to the scene if you create a garage of same style for the car

DrawTOOOmuch ,sagargears : i hope that i have time to do external background or garage
but i wanted the scene to be in a place with an exhibition hall feel

chriswalker : the concept was a quick sketch that i've drawn in my spare time at work ,
but i did modifications directly on the model and this is a good thing when u r doing ur personal work
no directors approvals :)

vexona :yah am looking to animate it , it need a suitable rig ,but my priority nowadays is doing my demoreel

evilwabbit : the scene is one shot i just duplicated the car, and most of lighting came from HDRI image

I like this alot, the only thing that stands out as kind of odd for me are the blue flame decals. Something about them doesn't fit, maybe it's the flat edge on the bottom of it. It just ends half way down. It's minor. Looks great!

mlkdesign,Migsta ,yaso80 :I've done the upper carriage part and the lower part with the same color to keep the unity and to avoid distracting ,so i added the blue decals to break a little bit that unity ,they seems odd in lower edge but it is a handmade car :)

mlkdesign : no its not an outdoor hdri map its a map for a hall enterance filled with spot lights for that its look glossy , I watched a lot of live references that the glossy would appear in such a way .

Braetzel : yah its the first car that I made , regarding the time the work done within a month yah I put a dead line for my self :) in order to insure relax time , you know its not a continuous work , this including another version with muddy and rusty textures that I have done but I have chosen the final output as clean and new (old style) car ... :thumbsup:

2. Or did you only subdivide the mesh?
3. I thought the car was all one piece, but after looking at the Edged faces image (car3.jpg) I'm not too sure anymore. Is it?

No I didn't use normal maps at all

i used polygons and nurbs without subdiv any part

no the car isn't one piece...its better to make it as its real parts to give it the details u want

Wow, polys and nurbs only?! :eek:
Then why is it that when we look at the rendered image we can't see any of the angular polygon corners as the ones we see in "car3.jpg"?
Does it have to do with something Maya render does? (I use 3dsMax).

As for the textures/materials/shaders, did you unwrap the UVs? Or did you apply the materials directly to each part?

I suppose your funny car would be more suitable for a film animation than it would be for a game, correct?
