What's the best way to do this ? I'm used to low poly stuff, and for instance high poly cars are different from heads (especially when you have all kinds of lines/shapes running across the car's sides).

Any particular way to handle this ? Thanks!

Well thankfully you don't have to worry about mapping too much since a car is made of of a series if slightly curved panels - Break it up into 3 parts possibly - The left side, the right side and then the top (bonnet, roof and boot) - You should be able to use 3 planar maps to do this. You don't mention what application you use so I can't be more specific than that - Most apps will have some kind of tool to export a model template of its mapping coordinates that you can use as a guide in photoshop which sometimes comes in helpful but since a car is quite box shaped then you shouldn't need it.

I'm using max 5......but I was looking for a more general approach kind of answer, nothing step-by-step, so thanks :)

But still, one of the problems I'll encounter is how to do a perfect match with lines/shapes that run from the roof to the side for instance, but I'll have a go at it anyway, thanks!
