Hi, I searched the previous posts but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. I'm working on a simple rendering project trying to create a biological membrane that looks like this one:

Could anyone provide some suggestions on how to create such a texture? Thanks!

There are a few in the Maya > Shaders section at www.highend3d.com (http://www.highend3d.com), which you could download, import and analyze. Generally the Maya Ramp Shader is very handy as a starting point for building such a shader. For instance try plugging a procedural such as Noise into the bump channel or into one slot of a ramp in the color or transparency channel and then play with the values until you get something you like. Remember that you can plug almost anything into anything. And check what the Light/Facing Angle options under the color input do, generally you'll probably want to select Facing Angle.
