Title: Chandra
Name: Ken Matheson
Country: United States
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Chandra. Is in reference to chandra the hindu goddess of the moon, and fertility. and similar to other ancient mythological goddesses, such as Ishtar and Diana.

Originally this was an acrylic non digital piece that I totally redid in Photoshop and Painter, not only to make it a digital piece but because I felt able to embelish it with the new tools in Painter X and all of my new tools since I did this painting some 10 years ago.

Thank you all for your comments on this piece so far. I never expected it to get such great commentary. If you would like a print of it, please mention those matters in a pm to me so the thread doesn't turn into a sales thread.

This particular piece I posted as a test to see what kind of reaction I would get from a beautiful woman's face instead of my usual insanity.

So far so good. If you have any creative critiques to help me to take this piece to better it, I certainly would welcome them.

Thank you again for your critiques. I try not to post until I feel that Chandra was getting some recognition. Wow thank you for your kind words again, They are inspirational, even the crits.

Best,
Ken David Matheson

This is unbelievably gorgeous! I have it as my desktop wallpaper now :-) The colour, motion and energy that the work exudes is staggering. Brilliant job, love the realistic tone eyes contrasting the more abstract skin textures, this is very effective.

As with all your work, this piece is distinctive in it's design and unique textural rendering. I guess because it's a beautiful female, it really stands out to me among your other work.
Great job!
