View Full Version : Lag on Spline IK control

Hi all!
I guess someone could help me bescause i'm a bit confused... let me explain you the problem:

Actually working on a professional short film production, i had to upgrade my rigging skills (before that i was animator in the Game industry.)
Then i rig my Character with an Spline IK control system on the spine, everything was working well, but when i started to animate it some "Lags" appears. not at the beggining but after the 500's frame it begin to be really really hard to animate with precision.

The problem is that the lags are only on the spine controllers not on the rest of the rig.



I guess someone understood my bad english and cloud answer me.

This might be to do with controller messaging with splineIK, unless its storing some sort of cached state of itself? im not sure.

and how to counter this problem? i really don't find any solution. the problem seems to come from the number of keys i have. the more i have, the more it lag.... i try it on the same rig in two situation:

first one from frame 0 to 1000 with many keys=> it's become really difficult to animate the controls because of the lag.


the second one from 0 to 1000 too but i cleaned the animation. it's a bit better but really not a solution....
