View Full Version : How do I make things stay up?
I'm having a real problem with a scene I created recently. Everything keeps dropping out of max...
Now, I'm assuming I need a glue plugin (or similar) - does anyone know where I can download it?

Have you tried feeding them methamphetamines? I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Unless you have some sort of force linked to the objects or using reactor with all the appropriate settings set, then your objects shouldn't move.
Maybe these movies will help explain my problem...

If I model some staples - will they stay up?
Thanks - I am new! :wip: :airguitar :airguitar :airguitar

Yeah it's a common problem in MAX I'm afraid, it has to do with the way MAX interacts with the quantum flux field Discreet is generating over most parts of the world. The programmers could fix it by tweaking the frequency of this field, but unfortunatly that would erradiate life on Earth as we know it.
So I'm guessing they'll do that in MAX6.

Most definatly, but try not to staple through the dogs head or the SPCA might be contacting you about animal abuse.

Try turning your monitor over, so it's laying on it's back.
That should help :p

Doesn't Reactor in Max 5 come with Nails or Pins or something? I remember seeing them once. However, I don't remember seeing a Reactor Hammer.
Hmmm...

I think max doesnt include a real tape. what you need is a double tape!
You must create it yourself, by making a plane, then you must apply it with a tape material. You can scan a tape or make it yourself by using your favorite picture editing program or you can use procedural maps.. just be creative...
and the important thing is to check the 2-sided in the material editor!
i hope this helps

AJ_23: Hope you don't mind but I've saved your picture as my new desktop. And you're right, everything does slide off! I have to keep picking the guy's head up off the floor!
