I dont get much time these days to finish this character, I'm busy with textures. I'll post a small animation of the hair dynamics soon. The light setup sucks at the moment...will fix for the end result.

Crit please.

She looks great, a little bit like posh spice, if she was more into goth

Very nice work. Just out of curiosity, though, I was wondering why her top (which appears to be a leather material) casts a shadow with a ragged edge. The cast shadow implies a furry type material.

luigi : you are absolutely right...I'll make the iris bigger. :buttrock:

eugene_fraxby: thanks budd, I'll post some animations soon. I'm very happy with the way the hair moves at the moment.

betelgeuse : the ragged edge shadow is because of low shadow detail. I usually keep these settings low until the end render...or change shadowmaps to area lights with raytracing.

Very nice!

Is it just me or does the mascara make her right eye look bigger than the left? :hmm:

Very nice, my only crit would be the hair and the eyebrows. The hair doesnt seem to have much definition. maybe you wanted it flat? the eyebrows are really big and in the middle by the nose they should feather off a little bit. just my opinion though. i like the detail in the face though

Great work! I'd love to see some more renders and maybe a wire. Keep up the superb work!

hey, like it a lot, you probably should look at the face color and sholder color, the difference makes it look like her head is floating.

dificult to say more critics I think too that the hair is to dark make it less black an play with the specular .

The character is super and i like a lot the piece of cloth and the texture of it.

waiting wires.

are you rendering with hdri ?

i think if yu put a light back the girl will help you to see better the siluete of the character

Very nice modeling, lighting and texturing so far. I love the look of the girl so far.

My comments would be that maybe the lip bump map is a little too deep. It's hard to say, because it looks OK in the mid range shots, but too pronounced in the close ups.

Another thing I noticed is that the skin has all the same level of shine. You may want to use a spec/shine map to limit the shininess to specific spots on the face and body. Maybe add a little noise to it as well.

A texturing thought you may want to try is to have a faint line of freckles trail down her chest. Simular to the feckles you have placed on her nose. Most people who are freckled do not just have it limited to their nose and cheaks.

some cool replies! Thanks guys.

luigi : I'm not using HDRI (or GI) in this scene. I might use it later once I'm done.
I acctualy had a back or rim light in the scene...forgot to activate it. I will update soon

slaughters: I'll look into the lip bump texture...not sure if I'm going to get that close in the final shot with the camera...I might change it tho
The freckles on her chest idea is cool! Thanks I'll definitely do that.

Well, she looks fabulous, a nice but dark pin-up girl.:xtreme: I think the lips are a bit wrinkly though, you can give her a smoother pout

well, here is a small update...I made the hair a bit more specular, and more brown. Let me know what you think.

Great work Werner - I loved your previous goth girl - this one is just as good if not better. Is it the same basic model here that you've used?

04-03-2003, 11:45 AM
She's very nice :)
I like the model a lot although you could improve two things:
1. The ear is to flat and not detailed (from what I can notice)
2. The hair goes through the ear

I think I like the original lighting a little better. I think that dark, high contrast shadows fit the character of a "goth"ish girl a little better than the paler, more difuse shadows and lighting in this last image.
