ok so i want to make a spoon using nurbs, i roughed it out with a sphere, but since the ends came to a point, i detatched the surface curves, edited them, and now im ready to rebuild. is there anyway i can just rebuild what i have here as one piece? i really dont want to have to deal with stitching and i didnt make that many changes. heres the file along with a screenshot, thanks.

well the spoon is symetrical so you can get rid of half the curve :) then use the square tool and start making the surfaces, make sure they all have matching spans then attach them. Once you have that mirror it and attach it agian.

edit: Just had a play with it most of it you can just loft then attach but for the end bits you need to cut up your curves to make the surfaces.

anyone know a better way

I've downloaded your mb file, and try making what you want, but the probel is that your curves don't have matching point, so it's not possible to deal with it. First of all, try to have good intersection between your curves.

perhaps maybe i shouldnt have deleted the history on the detatched curves, and then the original object would have still ben effected? if you unhide in the scene it should still be in there, well i have to get to class ill give it a try when i come back, thanks guys.

ok this isnt working at all, i tried making one out of a cylinder but it got really messy, does anyone have any idea how to make a spoon out of nurbs, and im going for realism, ultimately to be animated. thanks

what i would do is revolve a curve in the side shape of the spoon
so you end up with a rattle shape surface then tweek from there
