View Full Version : Kung Fu Characters
Pants01 04-01-2003, 05:24 AM I'm just starting out on my own personal project. The short that I will be doing is going to be a comedy based on cheesy 80s kung fu movies. This is the main character any suggestions would be good. I'll be putting up a ninja by the end of the week...

I like him. =) His relaxed pose might be a little too tense, imo. He seems to have one mood that being agressive. The only other thing that i've noticed is his pecs and the upper shoulder area in general. He has a girly neck for how thick his upper body is and where his pecs blend into the delts, there isn't much definition and his shoulder bones stick out pretty far. I like the concept and character overall though. =)

heh heh - the good thing about the old cheesy kung fu flicks is that you don't have to bother with lip sync - it'll look more authentic if lip sync is totally out!
Its a good start- but watch the hair at the front, it sort of blends in a bit with the forehead. Flared trousers maybe?
nice hands:thumbsup: your modeling skills have improved, grasshopper...keep up the semi descent work:wip:

I decided to go a different direction with my style. I went way too detailed and off model, so I decided to redo it from scratch...

Nice clean model - are you planning to show a smoothed, revised version?

I haven't figured that out yet. I like the low poly look cause it has all the nice sharp corners. I was thinking it might look cool if I made the material a constant and put on an ink shader. If the ink shader doesn't look good, I'll sub-divide it and do some texturing.

I like the ninja character and his beady eyes - the hat looks good on him too. I think the main characters eyes seem a bit bright at the moment because they're the only white thing in all that grey but that'll change when he's textured.
This is shaping up well

The re do was so worth it, made your charecter look 10 times better, and has awsome contrast with your ninja. I am wondering what the flap of cloth is behind the ninjas head. The change to the eyebrows building them into the head also helped. Maby the guys hair comes to far back? And GET THE HANDS DONE!
Out,
Don
