View Full Version : Brom :: Artist Profile
PaulHellard 08-22-2007, 05:31 AM Hi there,
I recently caught up with Master traditional artist Brom, as he worked at his ‘dank cellar in the Pacific Northwest.’ Living in Seattle, he has evolved into quite a prolific story-teller, and is producing them in books and other medium. He recently gave us some time to be in the Jury for EXPOSÉ 5 content. Read on by clicking the image and feel free to comment.[/url]

Say the name ‘Brom’ to anyone interested in dark characters, concepts and creatures...
Hey now!.... not dark, ....misunderstood! ;)
Good read, wish the article was a little bigger though...

Brom is a guy with great peculiar attitude, which I'm fascinated about it and of course, his visual style; a bit gothic and a bit romantic style.
I'd like to know is he going to turn to do art by digital way. Unless, I miss my guess, he would do absolutely marvellous painting - like as Todd Lockwood does (sorry for comparing Brom to him).

one of my absolute favourite artists. I have his 'darkwerks' and it's one of my most treasured art books. I'm certain you could easily spot his influence on tons of art here on cgtalk.

I like his works, very power, very strange, very good, very insane. Fantastic.
One of my favourite artist. I also like the works of Boris Vallejo, Lois Royo and Ken Kelly.

PAINTOVER THREAD WITH BROM!
Like the one we had with Stahlberg! It would be the single greatest thing to happen on CGS since Icantrememberthatfarback..
I could go on for several pages ranting about how much we need that and how cool it would be. Seriously.

Got 2 art books on Brom and they rock. Elric of Melnibone is awesome. fyi.. can I request a painting?
Check out the books from Julian May, "The Many Colored Land". They character Aiken-Drum is like Loki, and wants a portrait. (These books are a must read, just like Rober E. Howards, and Michael Moorcocks).

Elric was on of the first canvas painting I ever did. I copied one I saw in Heavy Metal. Wish I could find the cover. Matter of fact, I think I sold that painting to a biker at school. Maybe 20 years ago.

Wonderfull awe inspiring work. The dangerous ugliness of the dark being pulled in the opposite direction by a delicate beauty. Always my number one favorite!
