View Full Version : how to collide sprites with a mesh?
spacerweb 08-21-2007, 03:49 PM Ok, here is the thing...
I have some smokes that are raising up, and i need them to colide with an object they are heading to, and not to pass through it! I can set particle collision event, but how to get the SPRITES to collide with that mesh/surface since they are much, much bigger then a single particle.
thanks in advance

Hire - me! :)
Make a bigger object which will collide with particles instead the one you will render on the end.
If you really need better collision, you can use 3d fluid to get the right movement while colliding, and then use fluids as field to move your particle sprites. In case you want particles to follow the fluid, you need to set particles conserve to very low number, even 0.
You can use maybe few 2d fluids one behind each other to get faster calculation...
Hope this helps

I'm trying to create a fluidEffects driven particleShape - without success :(.
I've created a fluid container, a particle emitter, selected both, made a motion field, and .... it doesn't work - particles dosen't look like they're affected by any force - what's wrong ?
I'm wrong - motion field works the other way round (object affecting fluids) - you have to connect fluid to particle using dynamic relationships editor - that's all. (ehhhhhh - it was so easy)
