Title: Land of the Blind
Name: Marek Okon
Country: Poland
Software: Photoshop

Another book cover I did for Fabryka Slow. Drawing against artistic block is never fun yet - you have job to do. And that's the story with that picture. I did like 6 different versions and still I'm not completely happy about it, but I had to finish it due to deadline. Few photo mix used in texturing background and flame effect

As always crits and comments most welcome

When do you find the time to do this with all your job titles? I must agree with the other comment, it's too centered it gives "stiffness" to the entire picture. But again, if it's for a book cover or a poster it would fit! A lot of details in the background also, it takes your attention away...But other then that, it's an incredible piece of work! :applause:

Thank you all for replies, I'm really glad you like it (especially when I have doubts about that piece). As for center composition it was clients request, my idea was more dynamic with additional sorcerers and lot of spell casting. And I know that I could pull it off better but again... artiisstt bloockkk :/
As for jobs, well I'm in my Zombie mode (especially now before Leipzig GC) sleeping 2-3h a day, working my azz of - the usual ;]

It's very nice! The only crit I have on it is that hte fire looks too photo/pasted compared to the rest of the piece. I think it would have worked out better if you painted it in.

This is great and as others have already said I love the details. It reminds me a little of the guy in Escape from New York movie.

Not worry, it is a good painting, i like it. The fire flame is well done, it capture my attention I dont mind with the symetrical pose on the character if it use for book cover. The only crits is maybe you should add more magical spell element surrond him, good job!

Great piece Marek !

About that composition and symmetry I can see you did lines that drive the eyes to a center spot above the characters head. This is common on sacred images and sacred art. Since its a sorcerer it makes sense what your client requested, and what you did about this request was just fantastic ! So it's a great piece ! 5 stars !

I really like this image it was done very well. I like the feeling of it. This image is very nice no matter how little effort you may or not have to put into to its its still very beautiful.
And no offense to how much effort you put into it and how long it took you, but the character kinda of looks like Jack Black.
No offense it might be my imagination.

Thanks man - actually I was my own reference for that pic. Yes, yes I am little (or not so little ;] ) chubby and that's why the mage came out like this :]
And it took about 30h - but the work itself was more like 15. I had to rework a lot of stuff due to annoying artist block
