Hi,

I have 8 GB of ram on Windows xp 64-bit. When running the program it states that it only recognizes 4 GB. Is there a 64-bit version of After Effects CS3?

Completely correct. As a 32bit application, AE will never use more than 4GB.

No, and I wouldn't hold my breath that there will be one soon. The only way to make more use of your available RAM is to use the multiprocessing feature.

Thans,

How do I use the multiprocessing feature ? I do have an Intel core 2 quad but is there somekind of check to enable in AE to make use of it?

You simply enable "Render multiple frames simultanously" in your preferences. This will launch multiple background insrtances of AE when ever you do a RAM preview or do a final Render via the render queue. But beware, it will only have any advantages if you really are using a lot of effects and the additional power can play out.
