View Full Version : bottle pump design
eokorie 03-31-2003, 08:16 AM I hope I can get some help here.... i am having some extreme difficulty trying to model a pump for a particular bottle product. I have attached an image. I have tried several time, with my results looking very funny. I can't seem to get the smoothness of the pump to be accurate. Triewd using HyperNurbs but everything just ends up getting rounded. Can anyone offer some assistance?
Thanks,
eokorie

do you have R8, I'd do hypernurbs the weight the points and edges for the shrper areas. If you don't simply add more detail to sharper areas so they don't curve
What I would do is point model the VERY BASIC shape. than after you have made this subdivide once with out hyper nurbs selected. than do another sub divide with hypernrbs selected. the first subdivision will give you the necessary geometry to pervent major changes in shape.

Eokorie,
I did a quick 10 minute mini tut, see attached pic if this is what you want.
Obviously, you can tweak it some more. I was pressed for time. There are screen shots/ explanations at the link above.
