View Full Version : Changing from FK to IK??

hi guys..

I have one question..I've got one rigged that you can change the arms from Fk to Ik (0,1 on the channel box) but if I keyed the arms with FK then on the next pose I would like to have IK but the arms moves from the position as soon as I change to IK..what should I do to keep on the same pose the arms when I change to IK...

hey man, you can give this script i wrote a whirl. See if it works for you.

Or to do it manually. You'll need to align a few things so that the transition is seemless:

-Position of wrist controller
*snap the controler to the positions of the FK joint
-Rotation of wrist controller
*eyeball the rotation to match or orient constraint, then delete the constraint (though could screw up your rig)

-Position of Elbow/Pole Vector controller
*position the Pole Control to the fk elbow position

hi..KielFiggins ..to be honest I havent test it yet .. I finished the animation already.
Anyway , just want to say thanks a lot and for sure in my next project I will test it..
