kymera 03-31-2003, 04:28 AM Can Maya 4.5 be set up to perform using Direct3D instead of OpenGL, and if so how do i go about setting it up for Direct3D?

Maybe in a future version.
unfortunatly Microsoft doesn't support anymore OpenGL....

Direct3D sucks ass anyway. It's highly unlikely Alias would do this considering DirectX is only on one of the four platforms they support. Viva la OpenGL!

Winnt 4.0 was the last version of windows that supported opengl by default. That was over 5 years ago and everyone is still using opengl without M$ just fine. Direct 3d doesnt support multi window acceleration anyways. In apps like 3dsmax it will only accelerate a single viewport(perspective/camera) and then software accelerate the others.

Not me.....I lose sleep every night knowing that if I have a OpenGL related problem ,M$ Won't help me fix it....
