Hi,
I did a short animation http://www.archvisdesign.com/anim, and I used trapcode particles for a clouds. As you can see there is some flickering (at the beginning at the bottom of the screen, and than it looks like a "white blinking stripes are moving" to the center of the screen). I don't know if this is something common with trapcode particles, and should I change something in the settings? Another thing is that I'm either going crazy or that flickering sometimes appears in different part of the movie. Maybe it has something to do with quicktime movie file?
Thanks

The flickering is drawing delay during playback - a part of the screen is drawn fresh while the previous frame is not even finished. This has to do with the data rate of the movie and is nothing to worry about. When you put it on DVD, it will be just fine. Beyond that I can't see anyything wrong with your animation from a technical point of view. However, you might try to render at 16 bpc. The banding is quite noticable and it's not all to blame on the compression...

Thanks for quick response Mylenium!. As always very helpfull.

However, you might try to render at 16 bpc.

I'm still "kind of new" to AE, so I just want to make sure that in order to render it to 16 bpc I have to change the color depth (under render settings) from "current settings" to "16 bpc"?
EDIT:
I had this set to milion of colors for quick time movie under depth in "Output Settings" and I thought this is enough http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon5.gif

The flicker may appen because the particles dissapear suddenly in the bottom part when one's moving a camera through the particular particles. (it's because it doesn't compute particles that aren't visible I think).

You may try to expend the size of your composition and crop it aftermath.

No, I mean set yolur project to 16bpc. It will minimize banding due to increased internal calculation precision, regardless whether you are outputting to 16bpc formats or just 8bpc like QT. Shinjipierre's comment is of course also worth considering.
