Paramount Pictures will rerelease the summer blockbuster in IMAX theaters on September 21 with more footage than you saw in the conventional theatrical version.

wow, this is cool, I wonder if we will finally be able to see any kinks in the ilm 3d armor at this size...

During Siggraph at the San Diego airport there was a backlit transparency poster about 36"x36" of a transformers headshot (can't quite recall which one). Looking closely I noticed it had a CG look to it ie. painted textures and CG highlights etc. Obviously this is at print resolution.

Since the original footage is used then converted to IMAX format I doubt the CG-ness will be as noticeable. Should still look damn cool, sound damn cool too!
